The German team dropped out of the World Cup in the group stage, but continues to draw attention. The fans most actively followed the saga with head coach Hans-Dieter Flick, who could, but never left his post. However, one crucial loss for the Germans did happen.
I’m talking about Oliver Bierhoff. At one time he himself played for Germany (and even won the European Champion in 1996), and after his career ended in 2004 he got the position in the national team. Moreover, the post of manager was introduced especially for Birchhoff.
In particular, the work of Bierhoff is associated with all the recent success of the German national team. Under his watch the team won the World Cup and regularly made it to the decisive stages of major tournaments.
In the case of Flick’s appointment Oliver also played a crucial role. The coach had previously worked at Bayern, with which he achieved stunning success. Flik left the club because of misunderstandings with the management and immediately became one of the most desirable specialists on the market. That’s when Bierhoff stepped in: he helped the German Football Association come to an agreement with Flick and quickly established a relationship with the coach. From then on they worked closely together.
But the early departure from the World Cup hit Birchhoff hard. The national team manager made no secret of his disappointment in his statements and then the union announced that the contract was terminated by mutual agreement. The same contract that had been extended until 2024 before the 2018 World Cup (also a failure), which Birkhoff had originally planned to work out to the end.
At least without the German national team, but the 2022 World Cup continues, with the finals just around the corner. To make watching the matches more interesting, we advise you to go to bet Tanzania.
Of course, Flick, used to having an experienced and authoritative person by his side, wasn’t happy about the parting.
Officially the position is vacant, but journalists have already dug out the details. According to the authoritative newspaper Kicker, the main candidate for the post of German national team manager after Birkhoff’s departure is the sports director of Hertha Berlin Fredi Bobic.
By the way, Bobic, like Bierhoff, played for the German national team and won Euro 1996. So the German Football Association’s approach is now clear.
